Sharnice “Cubana” Walker is a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and entrepreneur born and raised in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Influenced by legends like Whitney Houston and Teena Marie, she honed her craft at the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where she studied classical and opera vocal training.
Her journey from overcoming childhood adversity to gracing national stages is a testament to her resilience and determination. Sharnice has performed at renowned venues including The Anthem, National Building Museum, Howard Theater, and the Washington Convention Center, and was a featured vocalist with Kushner Entertainment’s Sound Connection at the 2017 Washingtonian Inaugural Ball. In 2019, she released her debut album Get Into It, earning recognition as the Titans Award Female Vocalist of the Year.
Entrepreneurial at heart, Sharnice is also the founder of Colorful Scissors, LLC, a mobile hair styling business she built to fuel her creative independence. Embracing her Afro-Latina roots, she has released bilingual music, including her 2021 EP Say Hello to the Bad Guy and the single Me Dê Mais. Her artistry later caught the attention of Grammy-nominated and Grammy-winning producers, leading to collaborations with Eric “88Fingaz” Parham, Darius “Deezle” Harrison, and LALoveTheBoss on the 2023 single Say Yeah.
Continuing to expand her catalog, Sharnice has released standout singles such as Give It All to Me (2023), the pop-driven anthem Tame (2024), and the sultry track More (February 2025). She is set to release her highly anticipated single W.Y.O. on her birthday, October 5, 2025—further cementing her reputation as an artist unafraid to explore new sounds and push creative boundaries.
In 2023, she delivered a moving performance of the National Anthem at Audi Field for DC United, a moment that paid homage to her idol Whitney Houston. Today, Sharnice continues to carve out her space in R&B, soul, and pop, blending her bilingual sound with raw authenticity while inspiring the next generation to believe that “you can do anything you set your mind to.”
